ENRICHMENT PROGRAM FEES
The State-sponsored Voluntary Pre-K (VPK) Program is free. The State of Florida pays for 540 free hours. WCSD offers those 540 hours in 180 days for 3 hours (8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.) each day.
To complement the free VPK program, WCSD also offers an enrichment program. The enrichment portion of the day follows the 3-hour VPK portion and is offered from 11:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. All children enrolled in a VPK program are eligible to participate in the enrichment part of the day.
The fee portion of the enrichment program is not supported by state-funded VPK funds or the regular school budget. Washington County School District has absorbed the weekly fees for the past two years using federal grant funding awarded to support extended-day literacy and enrichment for all VPK students.
Due to the grant project ending, beginning August 12, 2024, if you desire for your child to attend beyond the free hours the State provides, it will be the parent or guardians’ responsibility to pay for those additional services at the cost of $50/week for students to participate in the enrichment program offered at 11:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. each day.
