WCSD COVID-19 Announcements:

Wednesday, July 29, 2020:

In a special board meeting held Wednesday, July 29, 2020, the Washington County School Board voted to extend the reopening of PreK-12 schools from Wednesday, August 12 until Wednesday, August 26, 2020.  This change will allow for additional training for staff to set up students that will be participating in our new innovative learning option and further prepare staff with information from the local health department.

Parents are strongly encouraged to notify the schools by August 5 of their intent to enroll for traditional or virtual education.

School Update Regarding COVID-19:

As of today, Tuesday, March 17th, per information released to School Superintendents from the Department of Education, students will not return to school until April 15th, 2020.

Teachers will return to work on Monday, March 30th following our Spring Break. It is the intent from DOE that students can begin working remotely from home beginning March 30th. We will continue to work together as a District to finalize our Instructional Continuity Plan.

When we return, we will be following the new CDC recommended guidelines for meetings (no more than 10 people in a single occupied space). The District will be working closely with DOE for guidance in completing our plans. Be advised this timeline could change.

Additional information from DOE will be forthcoming.

Tuesday, March 17, 2020: Message from Dawn Spooner regarding bus delivered meals:
"Just a rough count, but we delivered around 550 meals to our students today. We did miss a few areas today, but we have a better plan in place tomorrow. We will be back at it at 9:30 in the morning. Please be looking for us. We did a lot of knocking on doors today, but that is very time consuming which led to us running out of time today. If we missed you and you are in need, please reach out to me. Thank you and we will see you again in the morning"

As a reminder, we use the WCSD FB site for informational purposes. We are not able to reply back to each individual who may post a question in the comments. However, if you will, please call us at 850-638-6222. Someone will be happy to take your call. We can't say enough about how thankful we are to the parents and community members for their understanding during this time. It's all just as new to us as it is to each of you. We will get through it...together!
